Hastings - The Area

The White Rock Hotel is situated on Hastings' bustling sea front, half way between the historic Old Town and hip St Leonards on Sea.

White Rock Hotel

The hotel sits at the edge of the America Ground, with its growing range of independent cafés, bars and food stores. Hastings Pier is opposite and the White Rock Theatre is next door, giving guests easy access to the many music and cultural events that they host throughout the year. Source Park, a 'got to be seen to be believed' underground skate park is just along the front.

A short walk away are the many attractions of these lively and historic towns, set against a spectacular background of cliffs and beautiful countryside. From the cobbled streets of the Old Town, the historic fishing port and Norman castle, to the traditional delights of an English seaside resort, Hastings caters for all tastes and budgets. Set in the heart of historic 1066 Country, Hastings is an ideal base for visiting the many historic and natural attractions of the South East of England.

Hastings is well know for its year-round events and festivals, including the Fat Tuesday music festival on and around Shrove Tuesday, Jack in the Green each May Day bank holiday, and the Hastings Bonfire in October. The hotel provides a great base to visit and experience these festivities. Hastings Contemporary art gallery is 15 minutes walk away.

Vintage lovers will find plenty to browse through in the town's many antique and vintage shops, and there is a wide range of galleries and lifestyle stores in addition to traditional bucket-and-spade and sweet shops to keep everyone happy.
